Miss Columbus Lola Lauro

From the starry-eyed Little Miss Columbus to the poised and accomplished Miss Columbus,

Lola Lauro now stands as -- a singer, actress, model, and an individual who has a deep passion

for the performing arts.

Lola, a junior at Mahopac High School, began her career in the spotlight as Little Miss

Columbus in 2017, and has recently been crowned Miss Columbus, the only person to have

both titles. Lola stated after hearing the news,

“Being chosen as Miss Columbus was such an

incredible honor. I am so excited for an opportunity to represent my heritage and community in a

meaningful way. It’s something I’ll always be proud of,

” displaying a proud milestone for her and

Mahopac’s local Italian-American Community.

Since her first crown she’s remained a dedicated performer and has built up a resume filled with

creative accomplishments and contributions to the community. She has performed in a variety of

stage productions including Shrek and The Outsiders, that have showcased her vocal and

acting abilities. She also took the stage by being a part of her school’s rock band, Illusion.

Through her involvement in Mahopac High Schools drama and music clubs she continues to

shine as a performer.

Her talents have taken her beyond the school stage, performing for veterans, appearing in club

venues throughout Westchester and Connecticut (including the Regency Hotel in Yonkers and

several restaurants), and being hired by WGCH radio station in Greenwich for special

performances. She has also been a featured singer at the Italian-American Club and performed

at the Columbus Day statue ceremony several times, demonstrating her pride for her heritage

and community.

Lola has additionally been recognized by local media, including features written by journalist

Bob Dumas and Mahopac News. Alongside her pursuits artistically, she holds a strong

academic record by taking college-level classes, and is heavily involved in school activities.

She is especially grateful for the many opportunities the Italian American club has presented her

with, and would like to thank President and Secretary Giulio and Linda Cefaloni nfor their

continued support.
